Defense for teenager motions for first-degree murder charge to be dismissed

The defense for a teenage suspect has filed a motion to dismiss a first-degree murder charge, arguing the shooting was justified under Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law. The case stems from a 2023 incident in which the teen claims he acted in self-defense after the victim allegedly approached him in an aggressive manner.

Attorney Paul Aloise, representing the defendant, pointed to court filings outlining the justification for dismissal as the case moves forward.
