Why The First Academy’s quest to enter Florida high school football playoffs may be over

It appears The First Academy’s effort to enter the 2025 FHSAA football playoffs may be coming to an end as legal challenges face critical timing hurdles. While a judge initially granted a temporary injunction to lift the postseason ban, the order was not finalized, leaving the team’s playoff eligibility in doubt.

Attorneys Paul Aloise and co-counsel, representing the TFA players, had filed the emergency injunction in an attempt to reverse the two-year ban. With delays in formalizing the ruling, the team’s chances of participating in the postseason now appear uncertain.
